The best land based shark fishing rod on the list is going to be my personal favorite and that’s the Fiblink Surf spinning fishing rod, it’s a two-piece heavy action rod. The Fiblink rod is crafted out of a carbon fiber blank that is a high-quality material to give it that nice sensitivity and toughness you want on your rod.

Your going to be reeling in sharks with this rod and have a lot of fun while doing so it’s got the backbone to fight them and a great casting distance since it is a twelve-foot long rod. This rod weighs about 18 ounces and at the price, it’s a bargain and the line rating for this rod is a 20 to 40-pound line rating.

The Fiblink surf rod has high-quality stainless steel guides crafted with ceramic rings this design gives reduced friction among the guides and the line. This is going to help a lot when your in heavy pressure from the shark’s pull and the line’s causing immense friction, with this guide design the friction is going to be much smoother.

They are also A ring line guides which means their going to be perfectly aligned on the bottom of the spine where the blank is. I really like the reel seat feature it has a tapered hood that’s constructed out of stainless steel and keeps that reel nicely secured.

The butt of this rod is made with rubber and it has a rubber shrink tube handle that will help you have that tight grip to battle the sharks without the fear of having your rod slip away from your hands.

This rod is a top-notch shark fishing rod and is just the right tool for the job of land based shark fishing.

The second rod on the list is the Okuma Longitude Surf graphite spinning rod. This is a 9-foot-long rod with a heavy action and a line rating of 15 to 40 pounds.

Its a two-piece rod with a powerful and sensitive blank, most shark rods are two-piece because if you want to just cast from shore then you’re going to need that extra length on your rod that the two-piece models offer.

Backbone wise it’s really tough and can cast even the heaviest of baits pretty far and that will be needed if you don’t want to use a kayak and cast then come back to shore after. It’s a high-density constructed Okuma rod with large double-footed guides that are made of aluminum and is meant to handle the big game fish very well.

The grips are quite comfy because they’re made as soft EVA grips for when you catch a big shark and you have to battle for an hour. The hooded reel seat is really great its made out of stainless steel and will keep that reel in place when under heavy pressure from the shark fights.

I like that the Okuma longitude has a pac bay rubber butt because it prevents the rod from slipping from my hands a lot better than without. This is my second favorite rod to use and puts it second on the list of the best land based shark fishing rods for a great reason.

It’s a really powerful and high-quality rod that can not only cast far but is extremely durable while keeping its sensitivity thanks to the graphite composite blank design that it is made from.

It has a carbon fiber front drag with a dragging power of twenty-six and a half pounds of raw dragging power to outmatch any tiger shark or even blacktip shark out there and will do so beautifully.

This kastking reel is a powerful and smooth reel that has a CNC machined aluminum spool. I love this reel due to its braid-ready design it’s a spool feature that’s made to smoothly use braided line and I like to use braid when battling sharks.

On top of that on the rear, it has a baitfeeder drag which is super helpful when your live lining or drifting your cut up bait. The T grip handle feels great to handle and retrieve, and also is crafted from aluminum making it quite durable.

When you pair this reel with the Okuma Longitude, sharks are going to really get a battle that they cant win making the combo excellent for fishing sharks from land.

Third on the list is the Tsunami Airwave elite 11 foot heavy action surf rod. This rod is crafted with a high fiber density blank that increases its durability and casting distance while making it just a bit lighter for added comfort when battling sharks.

On top of that, the construction of this unique blank design gives you a much more sensitive tip and a better casting precision throw to accurately cast with ease.

The rod has a nice long length of 11 feet which is very helpful for land shark fishing so you can throw much further into deep where the sharks tend to be. It’s a two-piece rod and is extremely strong I personally really like the backbone on this tsunami airwave elite.

The sharks just won’t stand a chance against you with this rod. It has a line rating of 20 to 40 pounds and can carry a 5-ounce sized bait without a problem.

It’s an overall well-built rod with fuji k guides and a Fuji reel seat too, I really like fuji on my rods their high quality made to help increase the rod’s performance.

The fuji alconite guides are braid line proof and I like this design because I use braided line most of the time for shark fishing and it helps a lot with the long-term damage to the guides.

When it comes to fishing sharks you want that durability that the braided line offers to really catch them much easier and this rod is specifically made to handle braided line thanks to its braided proof guides which I just love!

The quality and value this rod offers easily makes it one of the best land based shark fishing rods. The performance this rod has is that of a rod that is triple the price and if your a seriously trying to get into shark fishing from land you’re going to want one of these for your rod arsenal.

Daiwa Bg 6500 Spinning Reel

The reel that the tsunami airwave elite is going to be paired with is the Daiwa Bg 6500 spinning reel. A uniquely crafted reel with an amazing design that truly makes this reel unique, it is the air rotor design that I love but first, let’s get to the main components of the reel.

This Daiwa bg 6500 reel is a big game reel that will reel in sharks smoothly. It has a black anodized machined aluminum body and has that incredible power and balance you want on a reel.

The gear ratio on this reel is a 5.6:1 and it has a powerful dragging power of thirty-three pounds which is just perfect to reel in even the bigger sharks out there. Along with the dragging power being very powerful, it’s also a waterproof drag so no need to worry about getting water on it.

It’s a six plus one stainless steel ball-bearing reel with a dual anti-reverse system that I really like using when overpowering the sharks. It’s a visually appealing reel that’s black and gold and has a large-sized digi gear design that is unique to this reel.

This design increases the gear tooth contact points which means your going to have that smooth drag and longer-lasting reel while making it incredibly strong.

What separates this reel from the rest is the solid screw-in handle feature and I really like this feature when it comes to shark fishing applications.

The screw-in-handle design gives you an edge when in battle by giving you no movement when reeling between the handle arm and the main gear. What this means is that you’re going to have full control when rotating the reel handle which helps in overpowering the shark even further.

On to the spool, it is an ABS spool which you can just fill it with your braided line even near the edge and not have to worry about getting it tangled and really gives you more space so that you have more yards to battle with which is always great.

It’s a big-sized spool designed to help you reduce the casting friction of the line giving you a much further casting distance and also a much smoother cast.

Now let’s get back to the air rotor design, this makes the reel an even stronger high-quality reel that has a different shaped rotor which decreases the weight of the reel and helps it with pressure, and gets a lot more power while doing so.

It’s crafted out of a composite blank and is extremely strong and durable. The guides on the Penn battalion ll are high-quality fuji alconite guides and they give you that nice smooth cast with a longer distance that we will need for casting out from land to really be able to reach a shark.

The reel seat is constructed as a fuji reel seat and I love how secure and tight the reel fits with it. Also even though it’s a two-piece rod it really feels and performs just like a one-piece which is incredible!

This rod can use braided line very well, which is the line type that I use for this fishing application and I highly recommend that you use braided line too. Also, the rod can handle the bigger game fish and will do so excellently. It has a strong backbone and that nice flexible tip to overpower the shark.

It is uniquely crafted from an sls3 blank to make it an even more balanced rod while not being as heavy. It has eight guides that are high-quality Fuji guides and they have alconite inserts for a much smoother casting performance.

Sand Spike Rod Holder For Land Shark Fishing

When you have your shark bait casted already and your just waiting for the shark to bite your rod is going to need to be on a rod holder on the sand. You wouldn’t want to place your rod on the floor while you wait because sand will just get inside your reel and damage it.

Also, you wouldn’t want to be holding the rod for hours waiting for the bite, you would just be fatigued by the time the shark strikes. This is where the sand spike rod holder comes into play.

All you have to do is put the sand spike through the sand with the metal spiky end with a bit of force and put the rod in the rod holder. After that, you just wait for the rod’s tip to move and that’s when you run straight to the sand spike and detach the rod put it in your rod harness, and get ready to battle the shark!

The sand spike rod holder will be needed so if you don’t have one be sure to check out the Sea Strike sand spike rod holder that I highly recommend it is a must-have for when you shark fishing on land.

This sand spike comes with an aluminum stake that you will stick in the sand and is also adjustable also it works perfectly fine for even the longer sized rods.
